About Studio Fridae

Commercial and residential interior design with intention and craft.

Studio Fridae is a commercial and residential interior design practice based in Southern California. We bring intention and craft to every detail — from the first client consultation and site visit to the final installed element. Our work spans commercial offices, residential homes, and hospitality venues, as well as custom furniture and lighting designed in-house. We take on a limited number of projects each year so every space receives the attention it deserves, and we work with clients across the United States and around the world.

Our Approach

A studio built on intention and craft.

Material honesty

We let materials be what they are. Oak reads as oak, plaster reads as plaster, and brass patinas over time rather than fighting the aging process. This honesty gives a room depth and warmth that cannot be achieved with imitations. Every material selection is made with longevity in mind — not just how it looks on install day, but how it ages over the years a client will live with it.

Light as a primary material

We treat light — both natural and artificial — as a primary design material. Where it enters a room, how it changes through the day, and how it shapes the way a space feels are all considered early in schematic design, not added as an afterthought. The result is interiors that feel considered and lived-in — spaces that look great, feel right, and function beautifully for the people who use them every day.

Our Studio

What we do

Studio Fridae is a commercial and residential interior design practice dedicated to transforming spaces into places people love. We bring intention and craft to every detail — from the first client consultation and site visit to the final installed element. Our work spans commercial offices, residential homes, and hospitality venues, as well as custom furniture and lighting designed in-house.

Every project moves through a clear four-phase process. In Schematic Design, we consult with the client, visit the site to take measurements, and develop a mood board and color palette. During Design Development, we refine material selections, lighting, and custom millwork through detailed drawings and 3D renderings. In Construction Documents, we produce the complete technical drawing set that ensures every contractor and vendor executes with precision. Through Construction Administration, we stay on site — reviewing submittals, answering RFIs, and coordinating trades — to protect the design intent from groundbreaking to completion.

Who we design for

We design for homeowners, business owners, and hospitality groups who want a space that looks great, feels right, and functions beautifully. Whether the project is a new build, a renovation, or an early concept exploration, we collaborate closely with each client to understand their vision, goals, and lifestyle before a single line is drawn.

Our clients come to us with empty lots, tired rooms, and ambitious ideas. They stay for the clarity of our process and the consistency between the rendering we present and the room we hand over. We work across the United States and welcome projects at any scale, from a single custom furniture or lighting commission to a full ground-up build. Who builds it

Studio Fridae is built by a team of designers and craftspeople who care about both the big picture and the smallest detail. We pair an architect's technical precision with an artist's eye for material, color, and light — designing custom millwork, furniture, and lighting whenever an off-the-shelf piece will not do. Our goal is simple: spaces that look great, feel right, and function beautifully for the people who use them.

We take on a limited number of projects each year so every space receives the attention it deserves. That focus is what lets us hold the line on quality — from the first sketch to the final punch list — and deliver interiors that feel as good to live and work in as they look on the page.

Our design philosophy

Good design is not about a single style — it is about fit. A space should reflect the people who live or work in it, not the personal taste of the designer. That belief shapes how we approach every project, from a compact studio apartment to a sprawling corporate campus.

Material honesty

We let materials be what they are. Oak reads as oak, plaster reads as plaster, and brass patinas over time rather than fighting the aging process. This honesty gives a room depth and warmth that cannot be achieved with imitations.

Light as a material

We treat light — both natural and artificial — as a primary design material. Where it enters a room, how it changes through the day, and how it shapes the way a space feels are all considered early in schematic design, not added as an afterthought.

Client onboarding

Every engagement begins with a discovery conversation — no design work, no sketches, just listening. We learn about your daily routines, your aesthetic instincts, and the feeling you want a room to evoke. From there, we move into schematic design with a shared vocabulary and a clear brief. Frequently asked questions

Every project moves through four phases: Schematic Design (consultation, site visit, mood board), Design Development (materials, 3D renderings, custom millwork), Construction Documents (technical drawings and specifications), and Construction Administration (site visits, submittal review, contractor coordination).

Yes. We design custom millwork, furniture, and lighting in-house whenever an off-the-shelf piece will not do. This lets us tailor each element to the space — from a built-in banquette to a hand-forged pendant.
